Additional Information on Edward6 F. Anderson

Robert8 E. Anderson, a grandson of Edward6, has stated that he never knew his grandmother, Carrie, but was very familiar with Eva (Wheeler) Anderson, and had spent many a happy day at 8 Solon St., Norway, from early childhood up to the time he entered college. Edward6always seemed, to him, to be very tall, (about 6ft. 2in's.) slender and straight. Although Edward6 was retired as a paper mill foreman from the S. D. Warren Co., Westbrook, Me. he was always remembered as a farmer at heart, supposedly carrying on a tradition from earlier family history. His Norway, Me. home sat in the middle of a very large lot and contained garden plots on both sides of the house. At one corner he always kept a few chickens, mostly for eggs and food, but it seemed that they were also there for grandchildren to feed and pet. The pantry at Edward6 and Eva's house was always well stocked with food and especially "goodies" for children who came to visit. Following an old family tradition, where the man of the house did the "chores" before breakfast, "Grandpa" always had pie for this meal, but he was the only one who was allowed the delicacy.

Their's was a Cape Cod type house, with the main area dinning room, kitchen and barn ell. They, like all others at the time, had a usable living room, now called "den", as well as the formal sitting room used only for the minister and special guests. There was a center hallway leading to the second floor bedroom chambers, having a skylight at the top of the landing. Wonder what ever happened to the family bible at the top of the stairway and whether or not it contained information pertinent to the family records we are searching for today?
