Additional Information on Edward⁵ Augustus Anderson

Edward⁵ Augustus Anderson enlisted on 10 Sept 1862, (then a father of two sons and one daughter about to be conceived) to serve for 9 months in the Civil War as a Private (later Corporal) with Capt. Elisha Newcomb's Company E, 25th Reg't., Maine Volunteer Infantry, Colonel Francis Fessenden, Commanding. See appendix of Mansfield book for information regarding this enlistment, as well as a certificate from the Bureau of Pensions giving Edward⁵ Augustus Anderson a pension at the rate of $22.50 per month. Also included as appendix are letters written by Edward⁵ Augustus to his family of adopted mother Louisa (Berry) Anderson, to brother in law Charles Goodall (husband of Susan⁵ Watson (Anderson) Goodall) a letter from Susan⁵ and a letter from Lucy⁵, both adopted sisters of "Ned" or Edward⁵ Augustus Anderson.
