Additional Information on Edward5 Augustus Anderson

Edward5 Augustus Anderson enlisted on 10 Sept 1862, (then a father of two sons and one daughter about to be conceived) to serve for 9 months in the Civil War as a Private (later Corporal) with Capt. Elisha Newcomb's Company E, 25th Reg't., Maine Volunteer Infantry, Colonel Francis Fessenden, Commanding. See appendix of Mansfield book for information regarding this enlistment, as well as a certificate from the Bureau of Pensions giving Edward5 Augustus Anderson a pension at the rate of $22.50 per month. Also included as appendix are letters written by Edward5 Augustus to his family of adopted mother Louisa (Berry) Anderson, to brother in law Charles Goodall (husband of Susan5 Watson (Anderson) Goodall) a letter from Susan5 and a letter from Lucy5, both adopted sisters of "Ned" or Edward5 Augustus Anderson.
