Family of Cutting2 and Elizabeth (Knight) Noyes

Cutting Noyes, son of Nicholas1 and Mary (Cutting) Noyes, was born at Newbury MA 23 Sept. 1649, died there 25 Oct. 1734, 85y 1m 2d; married there 25 Feb. 1673 Elizabeth Knight, born there 18 Oct. 1655, died there 26 Jan. 1746, in her 92nd year, daughter of John and Bathsheba (Ingersoll) Knight.

Cutting was made a freeman 9 Jan. 1674; he was by trade a cordwainer or shoemaker. In 1690 he was elected captain of Newbury's first militia company. He was church deacon, and representative to the general court from 1709 to 1712.
